Former head of Ukrzaliznytsia and former commercial director of Ukrposhta accused State Financial Inspection officials of soliciting bribes

Former head of Ukrzaliznytsia State Enterprise Borys Ostapiuk and former Commercial Director of Ukrposhta State Enterprise Vasyl Veselyi filed a petition to the Interior Ministry on extraction of bribes by the State Financial Inspection officials.

The former high rank officials told reporters after having filed petitions, Censor.NET reports.

According to Ostapiuk, Mykola Hordienko demanded a bribe of $500,000 from him through intermediaries for positive opinion after audit.

Similar statement was also made by Vasyl Veselyi: "We were openly solicited a bribe of $100,000 for the State Financial Inspection head in order to issue positive opinion after the audit."

At the same time, Ostapiuk called Hordienko's statement made on losses allegedly taken by the enterprise, which he made on air of Shuster-Live TV program on March 20, baseless.

"Hordienko mistakes the wish for reality. Such an assessment can be made by prosecutors or judicial authorities," Ostapiuk said.

Borys Ostapiuk headed Ukrazaliznytsia SE from April to November 2014. Vasyl Veselyi held the position of Commercial Director of Ukrposhta SE from February to December 2014.
