Verkhovna Rada deputy from Poroshenko bloc, Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense Ivan Vinnyk accuses the Defense Ministry of paying an unreasonably high price for diesel.

He said in an interview with Censor.NET correspondent.

The price for the wholesale quantity of diesel is higher than the retail one. The amount of damages for the state, Vinnyk says, is about 140-170 million hryvnia ($6-7.4 million).

"The Verkhovna Rada Committee found that not the producers but the intermediaries only participated in the tender and all companies who wished to participate in the bidding were not notified in advance and were not able to submit a bid. This raises concerns about the objectivity of the organization of the procurement procedure. The prices are also not justified - they do not correspond to the stock exchange quotation, and the one for a ton of diesel of the purchased brand were significantly lower in Belarus and Ukraine at the time of conclusion of the addendum than the purchase price. Thus, the price of a ton of diesel with shipping charges, all taxes, and even seller's profit was about 20,000-21,000 hryvnia as of March 25 while the Ministry of Defense purchased it at the price of 25,980 hryvnia per ton. Thus, the overpricing, according to the deputies, is not less than 25% which is five -six thousand hryvnia per ton," Vinnyk said.

According to Verkhovna Rada deputy from Poroshenko bloc, Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense Ivan Vinnyk, it is cheaper to fuel (the equipment) at OKKO gas stations, which there are dozens in the country, than buy wholesale quantity from "OkkoBiznesKontrakt."

"The most important thing is that one can buy the fuel 1.92 hryvnia per liter cheaper at any OKKO gas station than from OkkoBiznes... If we take into account 30,000 tons, we could save nearly 70 million hryvnia filling (the equipment) up just at gas stations," MP Ivan Vinnyk said.
