 Medvedev approved granting discount on gas for Ukraine until June 30

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree granting a discount on gas for Ukraine from April 1, 2015 up to and including June 30, 2015.

Censor.NET reports citing the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation.

"The Government decree #1137 dated Nov. 1, 2014 "On rates of export customs duties for deliveries of natural gas from the Russian Federation to the territory of Ukraine" establishes special procedure for calculating the rates of export customs duties according to the level of the contract price for natural gas supplied from Russia to Ukraine on a temporary basis for a period up to March 31, 2015," the statement reads.

The export duty is calculated as follows: at the price of $333.3 and higher per 1,000 cubic meters of gas the discount will be $100. If the price is lower than $333.3, the 30% discount will be applied.

The signed decree extends the term of privileged regime of natural gas supplies from Russia to Ukraine from April 1, 2015 up to and including June 30, 2015.
