"Help is urgently required! I was arrested for arms trade and they also want to pin human trafficking as if I intended to take and sell in Russia my beloved Katia. She's my only witness and she is gone. She was probably tortured. I am in the remand prison #5 in Donetsk. The charges were brought by the 'Ministry of State Security'. Help! Share this message as wide as possible, please: I am Maxim Kalugin, I served in Motorola's Sparta battalion. Tell everyone: there are about 2,000 militias serving time in jail on false charges. Many of them are Russians," he wrote.
Judging by the photos, Kalugin has previously participated in the seizure of Vuhlehirsk and fought near the Donetsk airport. The militant Kalugin stated that he was fighting in the Sparta armed formation under the command of another Russian militant Arsen Pavlov, also known as Motorola.
Photos from the seized Vuhlehirsk
Judging by the pictures on the page, Kalugin has a wife and a small child in Perm, which did not prevent him from being in the roundabout with 'beloved Katia' in Donetsk.
A message with the requests for help appeared on Kalugin's page March 30.
Kalugin has previously posted frontline photos and videos on his page. One of the videos called "Searching for car spare parts near the airport" was filmed at the looted garages near the Donetsk airport.
