"I am ready to put the issues of second national language and federalization to a referendum, and I am sure that Ukrainian people will say their decisive 'No!' on the matter," Poroshenko stressed.
He also added that Russia's plan regarding Ukraine, its hopes that "Ukrainians are a conflict nation which will destroy itself" have failed.
Poroshenko stressed that 62% of those fighting in the Donbas are Russian-speaking citizens.
"But their Russian language does not prevent them from loving Ukraine the same way as I love it in Ukrainian," the head of state emphasized.
