 PGO investigating involvement of former Aidar battalion commander, MP Melnychuk in kidnapping of the ex-head of Ukrspyrt. DOCUMENT

Member of Parliament, former commander of the Aidar battalion Serhii Melnychuk is suspected of involving Aidar fighters in the abduction of former head of the Ukrspyrt State Enterprise Mykhailo Labutin. The matter criminal charges against him and revoking his parliamentary immunity are being considered.

This was stated by Poroshenko Bloc MP Mustafa Naiem on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

"You probably still remember the defector Serhii Melnychuk - former commander of Aidar, who switched from the Lyashko Radical Party faction to Ihor Yeremieiev's group. On the day when it happened, I wrote that a criminal case has long been opened in regard to Mr. Melnychuk and a petition on lifting the parliamentary immunity was in the works. [People] did not believe it. Today I received an official response from the Prosecutor General's Office. Former commander Serhii Melnychuk is suspected of involving Aidar fighters in the kidnapping of ex-head of the Ukrspyrt State Enterprise Mykhailo Labutin," Naiem wrote.

The PGO reports that the issue of criminal charges against Melnychuk and revoking his parliamentary immunity is being decided.
