Prime Minister Yatseniuk said that there is enough money in the state budget to increase monthly salaries of those investigators who inquire into major crimes up to 30,000 hryvnia.

He said this in an interview to ICTV, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"We have offered 30,000 hryvnia for each investigator (of major crimes). I have allocated 30,000 hryvnia (about $1,300) for each investigator who will actually fight against the corrupt mafia," the prime minister said.

Yatseniuk noted that the state authorities realize the impossibility of fighting against corruption effectively, while maintaining low salaries of the investigators, though they cannot provide wage increase to all investigators under current conditions.
