According to him, the most intense enemy fire occurred at the Prymorske direction.
"Militants and Russian mercenaries used 120-mm mortars and mounted grenade launchers to fire at the positions of Ukrainian troops near Shyrokyne, Staromarivka, Novoselivka, Mykolaivka. The positions of the Ukrainian troops at the Donetsk direction near Pisky, Hranytne, and Avdiivka were also attacked by the enemy (mainly with the use of 120-mm and 82-mm mortars; Avdiivka was shelled by the enemy's armored vehicles - two tanks opened fire from previously set up positions; SPG-9 mounted grenade launchers were also used in this area)," Tymchuk wrote.
In addition, he noted that an enemy group of up to two platoons supported by three armored vehicles attacked the forefront of the Ukrainian troops near Maiorske (Artemivsk direction): "As a result of the fighting, the Ukrainian units initially stopped the advance of the enemy from prepared positions, as well as through a tactical maneuver, and then forced his units back to the start line."
"In the area of Sokilnyky (the Luhansk direction) the militant forces in the amount of up to two platoons twice attempted to close in on the positions of the Ukrainian troops under the cover of intense small arms fire - both times were unsuccessful; as a result the enemy retreated to the initial line," Tymchuk said.
