 Poroshenko will discuss General Staff appointments with lawmakers and brigade commanders – Samopomich party

President Petro Poroshenko intends to initiate a meeting with military personnel elected to the Verkhovna Rada regarding the revision of the General Staff.

This was stated by chairman of the Samopomich parliamentary faction Oleh Bereziuk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainian News.

"The president promised that within a few days there will be a meeting with the 'military lawmakers' (former military personnel elected to the parliament - ed.) who are members of parliament. Brigade commanders and sector commanders will also be invited to the meeting for the consideration of the issue," he said.

Bereziuk also stressed the need for the immediate appointment of first deputy prime minister of the defense complex.

In addition, the MP said that lawmakers should prepare the laws on electricity, gas and economic relations with the temporarily occupied territories.

Samopomich earlier called for changes of leaders and employees of the General Staff of the armed forces and the appointment of the first vice prime minister of the defense complex.
