 NATO forces intercepted seven Russian warplanes over the Baltic

NATO Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled to intercept seven Russia’ military aircrafts over the Baltic Sea March 17.

The National Armed Forces of Latvia reported on Twitter, Censor.NET informs citing Segodnya.

"NATO Baltic Air Policing Typhoon jets scrambled to intercept the Russian Federation Air Force aircrafts - four Su-27, two AN-26, and one AN-12 over the Baltic Sea," the statement reads.

NATO fighters have repeatedly intercepted Russian warplanes over the Baltic Sea previously.

British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon believes that Russia could repeat tactics used to destabilize Ukraine in Baltic members of the NATO alliance.
