Deputy Prosecutor General and Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatolii Matios announced that the investigators has established the death of more than 360 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other anti-terrorist operation formations and detachments involved in the battles near Ilovaisk, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"They (the exact figures - ed.) exceed 360 people. These are people and military men from all arms of service and units involved in the fighting near Ilovaisk. It's the total casualties," he told reporters in Kyiv on Monday.
Matios said up to 180 people are listed as missing. "In addition, there are soldiers missing in action who are not considered dead, though one may assume that they, unfortunately, are not alive," the prosecutor said.
According to him, the number of injured as a result of these battles exceeds 500 people.
Earlier, Poroshenko told about revenge for Ilovaisk entrapment: "Hundreds of murderers suffered retribution being either buried there or returned home in zinc coffers."
