 Terrorists attacked Opytne, Shyrokyne, and Avdiivka villages at night - ATO press center

Terrorists keep shelling the Ukrainian army positions. However, the provocations tend to decrease.

Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center statement.

The situation report reads: "The night of March 16 in the anti-terrorist operation area was featured by a decrease in the number of armed provocations on the part of the militants.

"The enemy fired at the ATO forces' detachments 12 times along the demarcation line from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. using small arms mainly.

"The largest number of assaults was recorded at the Donetsk direction. In particular, the illegal armed groups assaulted the village of Opytne at 8:20 p.m. using IFV gun. The militants shelled the same village from 120-mm mortars at 8:40 p.m. The criminals attacked the Ukrainian soldiers' observation point near Avdiivka from the anti-aircraft gun at 1:30 a.m.

"The militants used mortars, grenade launchers and small arms near the village of Shyrokyne at Mariupol direction thrice during the night.

"The use of automatic grenade launchers and small arms was recorded at about 10 p.m. near the village of Sokilnyky in the Luhansk region.

"In general, the gangs used weapons nine times March 15 from 8:00 p.m until midnight. Three more cases of cease-fire violations were recorded March 16 from midnight to 6 a.m.," the report reads.
