 U.S. imposes sanctions against 14 individuals and two organizations because of situation in Ukraine including Azarov, Arbuzov, and Bohatyriova

The U.S. imposed new sanctions in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

According to Censor.NET, the expanded list was published today, March 11, on the official website of the U.S. Treasury Department.

The list of individuals includes:

- Roman Lyagin (chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and minister of social and labor policy of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic)

- Yuriy Ivakin (one of the leaders of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, ministry of internal affairs of the self-proclaimed LPR)

- Aleksandr Karaman (has held a number of leadership posts within the self-proclaimed DPR, including minister for social and labor policy, foreign minister, deputy prime minister, and deputy chairman of the council of ministers)

- Oleksandr Khodakovskyy (former head of the self-proclaimed DPR security service; the chief of the Vostok Battalion)

- Serhii Zdriliuk (senior "rebel commander", served as an aide to Igor Girkin (a.k.a Igor Strelkov), former "defense minister" of the self-proclaimed DPR; involved in the takeover of Ukraine's Crimea)

- Ekaterina Gubareva (foreign minister of the self-proclaimed DPR; has engaged in efforts to transfer funds from Russia to the DPR)

- Sergei Abisov (minister of interior affairs of the self-proclaimed Republic of Crimea)

- Oleg Kozyura (head of the Federal Migration Service of Russia in Sevastopol, Crimea; responsible for the systematic and expedited issuance of Russian passports for the residents of Crimea)

- Mykola Azarov (former Prime Minister of Ukraine; responsible for the misappropriation of state assets of Ukraine)

- Serhiy Arbuzov (former First Deputy Prime Minister and former acting Prime Minister of Ukraine; designated for acting on behalf of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych as First Deputy Prime Minister and as a member of Yanukovych's inner circle)

- Raisa Bohatyriova (former Minister of Health of Ukraine; misappropriation of state assets of Ukraine)

The two organization are:

- Russian National Commercial Bank (RNCB) (Russian authorities have used the bank to facilitate its illegal efforts to incorporate Crimea into the Russian Federation)

- The Eurasian Youth Union and its leaders Aleksandr Dugin, Andrey Kovalenko, and Pavel Kanishchev (actively recruited individuals with military and combat experience to fight on behalf of the self-proclaimed DPR)
