 Total aid package to Ukraine shall exceed $40 billion - Poroshenko

Ukraine needs international financial assistance in the amount of more than $ 40 billion, President Petro Poroshenko says.

It is reported by Censor.NET citing ZN.UA.

"The total package, which is formed to help Ukraine, the financial support, the financial foundation for the reforms, which is a defense for our national currency, for our balance of payments, for our foreign exchange reserves, shall, as of today, exceed $40 billion in total," Poroshenko said at a joint press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven in Kyiv.

On March 10 President Poroshenko signed a number of laws approved by the Verkhovna Rada on March 2, the adoption of which was one of the conditions of IMF extended crediting of Ukraine.

The IMF Executive Board is to decide on a loan to Ukraine in the amount of 17.5 billion dollars today, March 11.
