Poroshenko: Ukraine managed to fully diversify gas supply mechanism

Ukraine has significantly reduced its energy dependence on Russia and this year will buy natural gas at $245 per 1,000 cubic meters.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in an interview to the First National TV Channel on Monday, Censor.NET reports citing Segodnya.

"We have survived the winter, and we bought only 2 billion (cbms of gas - ed.) with the last purchase at less than $300 (per cbm - ed.) and, in the end, this has led to the fact that the Russian Federation had make an application for an increase of the pumped volume which crashed the gas market. And today we are going to buy gas at $245 through reverse," Poroshenko said.
