"At about 2 p.m. a car took fire and exploded near a Kharkiv State Culture University dormitory," the message reads.
The website also published two images of the explosion.
Later, People's Front MP Anton Herashchenko confirmed the accident on his Facebook page and said the reason for the explosion was short circuit.
"Panic rumors spread across Kharkiv about the second car blown up over the day. I just spoke with the Kharkiv Regional Police Administration Head Anatolii Dmytriev. The second car was an old Audi with problematic circuit. It just burned down. No one was hurt. The owner himself confirmed that his car was at the death's door," Herashchenko wrote.
