 Former Minister of Education Tabachnyk left for Israel - SBU

Former Education Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk left Ukraine after a day’s visit.

This was stated by head of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Vovk on Channel 24, Censor.NET reports..

"I would like to see us not reacting so painfully to the arrival or departure of officials. He came once - he will come again. It so happened that he came and immediately through the other side from Ukraine to Belarus, then to Moscow, and then back to Israel," Vovk said.

He added that Tabachnyk left Ukraine a day after arrival. There were no search actions against him because he is not wanted. Vovk assured that the arrival of ex-official was under control.

"We have a number of criminal proceedings in which we investigate the actions of the Ministry of Science, which was headed at the time by Dmytro Tabachnyk," the representative of the SBU said.

He noted that the Prosecutor General's Office is figuring out "when and what to charge Tabachnyk with, so there is enough evidence in order for it not to be a mere formality, but a serious work on presenting the suspicion and investigation to the end, all the ay to the trial."

"I'm not ready to tell you at what stage the Prosecutor General's Office is in the criminal proceedings against high-ranking officials, including Dmytro Tabachnyk," Vovk said.

On Feb. 28, Yanukovych's head of the Education and Science Ministry Dmytro Tabachnyk arrived to Ukraine on Tel Aviv - Kyiv flight.
