The UN Security Council will hold an open meeting on the draft resolution in support of the Minsk agreement on Ukraine today at 3 p.m. NY (10 p.m. Kyiv time. - ed.), the statement notes.
Earlier, the Administration of the President called on the Security Council of the United Nations (U.S., Russia, China, U.K., France) to prevent full-scale hostilities in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
It was expected that the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the new draft resolution on Ukraine on Sunday, Feb. 15. The resolution was sponsored by the Russian side on Friday evening. According to Deutsche Welle, the text welcomed the agreements achieved at the Minsk talks on the settlement of the military conflict in Ukraine. The resolution calls on "full implementation" of the set measures to achieve peace, including the establishment of the cease-fire.
Later, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Yurii Serheiev said that consultations on the "collective" UN Security Council draft resolution on Ukraine continue, because the Russian draft has a lot of comments.
