Foreign ministers, members of the European Union plan to adopt a new list of sanctions in connection with the situation in Ukraine today. The sanctions will be voted for without debate.
According to diplomats, the sanctions list will include 19 individuals and nine entities.
The situation in Ukraine will be discussed by U.S. President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Washington today.
EU High Commissioner for Foreign Policy Federica Mogherini expressed doubt that the peace plan of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande can stop the military conflict in Ukraine.
According to Mogherini, EU politicians support the peace initiatives of Merkel and Hollande, who held talks in Kyiv and Moscow and offered their plan for resolving the conflict and the establishment of a demilitarized zone. This plan will be discussed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk on Feb. 11, the press service of the Ukrainian president stated on Feb. 8.
