PACE President demands Savchenko to be released

President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Anne Brasseur insists that the Russian government is obliged to release Ukrainian deputy Nadiia Savchenko or initiate the lifting of her immunity.

She stated this on Thursday in Strasbourg during a meeting with journalists, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainian News.

Since last Monday (Jan. 26) Savchenko is a member of our Parliamentary Assembly, where she represents the Verkhovna Rada. And, in accordance with international protocol, she has a European parliamentary immunity, she said.
