 No threat of encirclement in the area of Debaltseve - Chief of Staff Muzhenko

The situation near the city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region is complicated but there is no threat that the Ukrainian troops will be surrounded.

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko said at a briefing, Censor.NET informs citing UNIAN.

"The situation near Debaltseve is tense. The militants continue conducting active hostilities for several days already. The Ukrainian servicemen give appropriate response to them. The situation is currently stabilized. There are engagements in the area of Vuhlehirsk at the moment. There is no threat that our troops will be surrounded near Debaltseve," Muzhenko said.
