The Ukrainian mission to NATO launched the mechanism of crisis consultations with the Alliance in accordance with the Charter on a Distinctive Partnership between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Mission of Ukraine to NATO Head Ihor Dolhov initiated an urgent meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission to discuss the situation and further actions. The meeting is expected to be held on Monday, Jan. 26.
It is reported that there is an active exchange of information on the latest developments in the NATO Headquarters among the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, NATO Secretary General's office, the organization's political and military bodies as well as permanent allies' missions.
NATO secretary general issued a statement on Saturday in which he noted that the militants' offensive in the Donbas is supported by the Russian troops and called on Russia to stop military, political and financial support of the separatists, and cease destabilizing the situation in Ukraine.
