Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko told journalists on the sidelines of Ukrainian Breakfast organized by Pinchuk Foundation during the World Economic Forum in Davos on Friday, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax.
"Our daily military spending is $5-7 million," she said.
Minister of Finance of Ukraine reminded that additional significant costs are associated with the increasing number of internally displaced persons, whose number has already exceeded 650 thousand of people, as well as free of charge supply of gas, electricity, and heat to the uncontrolled territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the damage from which is estimated at $1 billion for the heating season.
Jaresko stressed that Ukraine "only wants peace" and the soonest implementation of Minsk agreements. However she stated that now it is impossible to forecast when such a peace may be established.
Finance Minister noted that this year's budget envisages sufficient funds to cover defense spending, which is the largest in the history of the country.
