Censor.NET reports citing Governor of the Luhansk region Hennadii Moskal's official website.
Yesterday at 2 p.m. an old man, who introduced himself as a local resident, came to the checkpoint located on the border with the LPR-controlled territories at the extreme end of the village near Siverskyi Donets River and gave the soldiers a 3-liter jar of honey. He thanked them for their service and left.
"When the soldiers decided to try the honey, an explosive device in the jar exploded. One soldier was killed and three seriously injured," Moskal said.
The governor stressed that such explosive devices can only be placed and powered by experienced saboteurs.
"This case once again proves that the terrorists do not disdain any means in the confrontation with our troops. They are not only trying to kill or injure our soldiers, but also cause distrust between them and the local residents," Moskal noted.
