President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with heads of parliamentary factions, the prime minister, and the NSDC secretary before the parliamentary session on Friday.

This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada speaker Volodymyr Hroisman when opening the session, Censor.NET reports.

"Following the meeting, the president will introduce a draft bill to the Verkhovna Rada on lifting the parliamentary immunity and restricting the judicial immunity. Leaders of all the factions of the coalition supported the initiative," he said.

Hroisman instructed the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to prepare this bill today for being put to vote. According to him, today the draft will be voted for and submitted to the Constitutional Court.

"We have started the procedure of lifting the shameful parliamentary immunity," the speaker said.

"I am sure that today is the day when the Ukrainian parliament must have the will to support the president's initiative, which was presented. We are preparing the introduction of the bill after the hour of questions to the government. I think that all MPs will vote for this bill," Hroisman summed up.
