This was stated by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

The prosecutors "offered" the victim to make the "present" in exchange for closing criminal proceedings against him (under Part. 4 Art. 190 of the Criminal Code - fraud). The group was led by the prosecutor of Obukhiv district of the Kyiv region. "Three members of the group were detained today during the notarization of the contract for "voluntary" passing of the land as a gift. The operation was carried out by the Interior Ministry' OCD personnel and Kyiv region prosecutor's office. Currently the investigation against the detainees is ongoing and others involved in the case are on the wanted list," the head of the Interior Ministry noted.

"The prosecutor-extortionist and other "law enforcement officers" are being booked. Then - investigation and trial. I hope, a transparent one," he stressed.

"I called the Prosecutor General - he has the resolve to see it through. I am glad. On my part I will be uncompro, ising and tough on the policeman. There is no other way. Otherwise, we should not talk about reform, because it is the merging of crime and law enforcement officers makes any reforms meaningless," Avakov concluded.
