European Parliament recognized the massacre near Volnovakha as act of terrorism - Yeliseyev

The resolution adopted by the European Parliament showed that the European community is on Ukraine’s side.

Ukraine's Ambassador to the EU Kostiantyn Yeliseyev stated, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Liberty. According to him, the MEPs have recognized that the events such as the massacre near Volnovakha in the Donetsk region are "acts of terrorism" for the first time over the last year.

"This resolution clearly provides for any future development strategy of the EU relations with Russia to be based on a clear recognition of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine as well as on the fact that the sanctions against Russia may only be lifted after the stabilization of situation in the Donbas and return of illegally annexed Crimea," Ukrainian ambassador said, drawing attention to the fact that the European Parliament has once again confirmed Ukraine's prospect of becoming the EU member, according to the Lisbon Treaty.
