 Normandy Four meeting in Astana scheduled for late January

The meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Astana is scheduled for the end of January.

This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax.

According to the statement, the date of the meeting was discussed in a telephone conversation by the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Ukraine Nursultan Nazarbayev and Petro Poroshenko.

"In the course of the conversation it was noted that a meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Astana is to be held in late January," the press service of the Kazakhstan leader stated.

Nazarbayev and Poroshenko discussed the current situation in Ukraine, as well as matters of bilateral cooperation.

"Poroshenko confirmed his commitment to hold the high-level talks in Astana. He also said that the heads of Foreign Ministries of the Normandy Four and the Contact Group on the crisis in eastern Ukraine will meet in the near future to compile a draft document for the discussion in the Kazakh capital," the press service stated.
