 Military doctors are fighting for lives of soldiers injured in accident in ATO area. Spokesman provides details of the tragedy

As of 12:00 p.m. the accident, which occurred yesterday in the ATO area took lives of 12 and not 13 National Guard servicemen.

This was stated at a briefing said of the ATO speaker Andrii Lysenko, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

"The investigation is conducted by the military prosecutor's office. A special investigation commission was established upon the president's instructions. As of 12:00 p.m. the official data is such - 12 dead, 21 received injuries of varying severity. The gravely injured - 14 people - have been delivered to the Kharkiv Military Hospital. They are given all the possible help - blood transfusions as well as necessary medical procedures," he said.

According to Lysenko, the accident occurred at night, in poor weather conditions: "There were two trucks and a bus, which was carrying troops of the National Guard," the spokesperson stated.

"In the near future seven other soldiers with less severe injuries will also be taken from Artemivsk to the Kharkiv hospital. Our military doctors are currently fighting for the lives of the boys who were injured in this tragedy," Lysenko said.

According to him, President Petro Poroshenko has taken the investigation under personal control.
