The National Commission conducting the state regulation in the energy and utilities field established the purchase price of electricity for state-owned company Enerhorynok from the state-owned wholesale operator Ukrinterenerho, which imports it from Russia in the amount of 850 hryvnia per 1 MWh.

The decision is set in the Commission decree of 31 Dec. 2014, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

The purchase price of Russian electricity is set for the period from 1-31 Jan. 2015.

Earlier, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn stated that Ukraine would buy electricity from Russia in rubles at 85 kopecks per kWh.

"This price is less than the average for thermal power generation. It's cheaper than what the Ukrainian power stations sell," he said.

Demchyshyn did not specify the volume of supply, noting that this is a framework agreement for a year, and the volumes will be updated every month.
