As a result 13 servicemen were killed (one died in hospital at night) and another 18 were injured. The traffic police, military prosecutor's office, an investigative team of the Interior Ministry and the National Guard command are all working at the scene. According to preliminary data, the accident occurred due to weather conditions. Measures are being taken to provide medical care and evacuate the injured.
"On Jan. 5 during the rotation of volunteers and contract servicemen of the National Guard in the ATO area, a collision of military KrAZ truck and Bohdan bus occurred due to bad weather conditions," the press-service stated.
Comprehensive measures are taken to provide medical assistance to the injured, who were taken to medical institutions of Artemivsk city. All the necessary measures are being taken to supply medicines and evacuate the injured to Kharkiv and other medical institutions of Ukraine.
The operational headquarters of the National Guard of Ukraine set up a hotline to provide information to the families and friends of the victims.
