 Ukraine and EU to hold urgent consultations on import duties

The Ukrainian government will hold urgent consultations with the European Commission on the introduction of an additional import duty on goods to be delivered to Ukraine.

This is stated by the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"According to the representative of Ukraine to the EU Kostiantyn Eliseiev, tonight urgent Ukraine-European Commission consultations will be urgently held in a videoconference mode. They will concern the introduction of additional import duties in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On measures to stabilize the balance of payments of Ukraine in accordance with Article XII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994," the Representative Office stated.

The Ukrainian side will be represented by staff of the Finance Ministry, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, and Foreign Ministry. The European side will be represented by head of a Ukraine support group Peter Balash and representatives of the European Commission trade bloc.
