 Ukrainian crisis the most difficult since Cold war - OSCE Chairperson

Swiss Foreign Minister, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Didier Burkhalter considers the crisis in Ukraine the most difficult in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian zone since the end of Cold war.

He announced this in his address published on the OSCE website, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"The crisis in Ukraine has become one of the most difficult in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian zone since the end of Cold war," Burkhalter said.

He noted that the situation in Ukraine has negatively affected the security and stability in the OSCE region and beyond it.

Burkhalter believes that the OSCE can and should continue play a constructive role in coping with the crisis in Ukraine.

As reported, Switzerland will pass the OSCE Office to Serbia in 2015.
