According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus, the traffic accident involving citizens of Ukraine heading from Russia to Ukraine occurred Tuesday, Dec. 30, near the village of Žytkavičy in the Homiel region.
"The minivan carrying 12 passengers, including 11 Ukrainian citizens and one citizen of the Russian Federation, collided with a truck. Three people died, four were seriously injured, and five other received moderate injuries as a result of the accident," the statement reads.
The wounded were brought to the emergency department of the local health care facility.
Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus employee left for the scene. The case is under special control of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus is taking measures to ensure proper consular support of the case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
