 Ukrainians want security: only 22% of citizens currently oppose NATO membership

The majority of Ukrainians (53%) support the country's accession to NATO, 22% are against, and 25% have no opinion on the matter.

The survey of the Ukrainian office of the international research agency IFAK Institut shows, Censor.NET reports citing ZN.UA

The same survey showed that 66% of Ukrainians advocate the Ukrainian language being the only official language of the country, with 18% against the matter, and 16% undecided.

According to the survey conducted by the sociological group "Rating" in December 2012, only 19% of Ukrainians were backing Ukraine's accession to NATO, and 61% of the population were against it.

The survey was conducted by the Ukrainian office of the international research agency IFAK Institut between Dec. 1 and 18, 2014, among 1,000 residents of Ukraine at the age of 18-60 years in cities with population of 50,000 or more (except the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). Sampling error is 3.2%.
