Police detains eight militants of "Russian Orthodox Army"

Officers of the Organized Crime Units of Donetsk and Zhytomyr regions detained eight members of the so-called "Russian Orthodox Army" of the 'Donetsk People’s Republic.'

This was stated by chief of the Donetsk region police Viacheslav Abroskin on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

"During the search of the detainee's place of residence, the police seized automatic weapons and five sets of camouflage uniforms with "Russian Orthodox Army" chevrons," he wrote.

In addition, the head of the Donetsk police reported that between July and December of this year, the gang, dressed in camouflage uniforms and masks, committed armed attacks on local businessmen and residents.

The group was also involved in robberies of gas stations, shops, and other businesses in the region. The involvement of the detainees in committing terrorist acts and subversive activities in the Donetsk region is being checked.
