 Average rate of 17 hryvnia per dollar was taken as basis of state budget for 2015 - Yatseniuk

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatseniuk said that the draft state budget for 2015 is based on the rate of 17 hryvnia per dollar.

He said this during the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine television channel.

"The exchange rate which was the basis for the development of the draft state budget for the next year is 17 hryvnia for one dollar," Yatseniuk said.

Earlier, NBU first deputy head Oleksandr Pisaruk said that the National Bank of Ukraine has no plans to provide the government with forecasts on hryvnia to dollar exchange rate for the next year budget, as the exchange rate is not a parameter of monetary policy.

Some media previously reported citing sources that the Cabinet has put the exchange rate of 22 hryvnia per dollar in the draft budget.

It should be reminded that the National Bank has renewed historical minimum of the hryvnia exchange rate to the US dollar at the level of 15.7789 UAH/USD this week, Dec. 17. Therefore hryvnia depreciated against the dollar by 97.48% (for 7.79 UAH) or 1.97 times since the beginning of the year.

Recall, the Cabinet introduced amendments to the Tax, Fiscal, and Customs Codes into Parliament last night, as well as the draft law on the state budget for 2015. The relevant bills are posted on the website of the Parliament.
