According to him, there is an insignificant amount of coal left at the TPP's warehouses which is almost impossible to use for the production of electricity.

Svetelik also noted that currently only one unit is operating at Trypilska plant, which unit uses natural gas for the production of electricity.

It was reported earlier that the State Energy Generating Company "Tsentrenerho" is in talks to resume the supply of coal from Russia and is looking for alternative sources of coal.

According to Ekonomichna Pravda, as of Dec. 22 the warehouses of Trypilska plant had only 2,900 tons of coal.

The situation at Zmiivska TPP is also critical with only 5,700 tons of coal remaining in storage. Out of 10 units of the TPP, only one is operational.
