This was stated by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.
"A drug dealer and killer who committed the murder of three policemen yesterday in Kyiv has been detained. During the arrest he shot back, our men were saved by armored shield used in the assault of the apartment where the offender entrenched. Under the escort of special forces the killer was transported to a hospital with serious injuries," Avakov wrote.
According to subsequent information from Kyiv's Prosecution Service press secretary Aliona Yakhno on her Facebook, the criminal died due to the wounds. This information was not yet officially confirmed.
"What an end! I see we have no one to charge. According to my information, the guy is not alive," the press secretary wrote.
As reported earlier, two on-duty policemen and a former officer were killed yesterday in Kyiv when they arrived at the scene with a search warrant.
