President of Ukraine Poroshenko said in Lublin, where he learned about the International Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian military brigade's future place of deployment, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"The brigade should become operational in the first quarter of 2015. There is no time to lose," Poroshenko said.
He stressed that initially the team had to become operational in 2016, but the parties have decided to accelerate the work on its creation.
The president got familiarized with the structure of the joint detachment, its function capability and tasks, as well as the distribution of administrative responsibility areas by each of the three countries. He inspected the premises which houses the brigade, and spoke to the officers and soldiers.
Accompanied by the brigade commander Colonel J. Sobotka, Poroshenko inspected military equipment and modern means of communication, which deny possibility of interception, as well as command, medical, tactical, and communications vehicles.
The president also made an entry in the distinguished visitors' book.
