Judicial reform will not work until several hundred judges are behind bars - Turchynov

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will appeal to the Parliament with an initiative to lift the immunity of judges.

This was announced by Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksandr Turchynov during a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the NSDC.

He noted that the judicial system has not changed against the backdrop of the change of power. It has remained "corrupt, immoral and clumsy, which is also a challenge to the national security."

"It is my strong belief that the judicial reform will not work until several hundred judges are in jail. I do not see any other way to force the judges to make fair rulings," the secretary of the National Security Council said.

Oleksandr Turchynov said that he had instructed to form a roster of judges who made unjust decisions, released murderers and the corrupt. "Registry of these names will be drawn up, I'll refer to the SBU so that they ensure that these people cannot leave the country until the criminal proceedings against them are not finished," he said.
