Old coats, fur-coats, and patches are converted into warm and sturdy footwear for soldiers fighting in the Donbas by a resident of Kodra village in Kyiv region.

81-year-old Vitalii Hentselman spends hours at his sewing machine, Censor.NET reports citing TSN.

Vitalii's neighbor says that he is a very decent man who could be found working at any time even at night. He used to work in dress-making and tailoring establishment sewing suits and coats, after that he worked as locomotive driver for 27 years. Hentselman manages to sew one and a half pair of winter footwear a day. The old man has a lot of orders from the neighbors but sewing valenki for the ATO soldiers is of prime importance for him. Hentselman puts a photo and a letter inviting to pay him a visit wearing his valenki in each pair of footwear.
