"The armed group consisting of 12 saboteurs intended to penetrate into our troops' rear near the villages of Holubivske and Novotoshkivka. The servicemen from one of the mechanized brigades prevented terrorists' evil intentions implementation. The group has been localized as a result of skillful counter subversive actions," the statement reads.
According to the headquarters, the terrorists answered with sporadic fire to the Ukrainian soldiers' offer to lay down their arms and surrender: "Our troops engaged in combat. Only two saboteurs were able to surrender as a result of the fire contact."
"The captives were provided with necessary medical care. They were taken for questioning to the location specified by the command.
"The detained terrorist, in particular, reported in his testimony that the instructions and specific objectives were designated to the group by a Russian Federation Armed Forces officer. Consequently, the terrorists were to get into the rear of our troops and commit a number of diversions at the ATO forces positions and facilities, as well as carry out other acts of terror," the headquarters noted.
The press center also noted that the personnel authorized for investigation activities thoroughly documents all thugs' testimonies to ensure that they and their puppeteers fully answer for the crimes against the Ukrainian people.
