This was stated by 'Secretary of the Security Council' of the 'Donetsk People's Republic' Alexander Khodakovsky, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainian News.
He said that the introduction of this type of punishment requires an appropriate legal framework.
According to Khodakovsky, the first step in this direction is passing a law on 'the Ministry of State Security,' he said.
Khodakovsky did not rule out the possibility of the public discussion of the introduction of the death penalty in the so-called 'DPR.'
He stressed that the death penalty has not been carried out in the 'republic' as official sanction.
"We have not had a single sentence that was carried out and was called a death penalty," Khodakovsky said, according to the press center of the 'DPR.'
The self-proclaimed 'Donetsk People's Republic' announced passing the bills that provide for emergency powers granted to 'the ministry of state security.'
