"40% of the citizens officially receive salaries lower than 1,200 hryvnia. It's not true," the prime minister said.
According to him, the Cabinet is aware that this is due to imperfect tax system.
The prime minister said that the government's goal is to reduce the single social contribution from 41% to 15% in stages.
"This will provide an opportunity to take wages out of "shadow" and make them legal," he said.
In addition, Yatseniuk noted that the government will set additional responsibility for the payment of wages under the table and additional responsibility for illegal circulation of cash.
