Cabinet has promised that there will be no energy deficit in the grid system of Ukraine in a week. Deputy Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko said at the Verkhovna Rada coordination board, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"Today's morning meeting ended with the Energy Minister request to announce that the energy shortage problems are to be resolved next Monday," he said.
At the same time Kyrylenko assured that the purchase of coal from the DPR and LPR terrorists is out of question.
"The purchase of coal from the terrorists is impossible and unacceptable. This will never happen," the deputy prime minister said.
Meanwhile, the company Ukrenerho announced this morning that it instructed to resume emergency power cuts, which were suspended for the weekend, in the amount of 3,119 MW - the size of the current imbalance of power in the integrated energy system of Ukraine.
The lack of capacity has arisen because 27 units were idled for repair, low coal reserves in thermal power plants' warehouses as well as due to insufficient water resources at hydroelectric power plants.
Recall that the blackouts in Ukraine resumed in early December after the third Zaporizhia NPP unit unplanned shutdown from the unified power system. It was again connected Friday night but the third unit of the South Ukraine NPP was disconnected from the network for the scheduled maintenance Monday morning.
It was announced Sunday evening that the Cabinet decided to start importing electricity from Russia. Saturday evening reports informed that Russia grunted access across the border with Ukraine for trains with imported coal.
