Today Zaporizhia NPP to Activate Unit Stopped for Emergency Repair

Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (located in the city of Enerhodar in Zaporizhia region) intends to connect the power unit #3 to the unified grid until Dec. 6.

The National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Enerhoatom press center stated, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"The unit has been warmed up to the nominal parameters, equipment maintenance testing was performed. The nuclear power plant unit was brought to the minimum controllable level at 4:27 a.m. Dec. 05," the statement reads.

It is planned to be connected to the network till 11:00 p.m. Dec. 5.

As reported, Zaporizhia nuclear power plant disconnected the third unit from the unified grid of Ukraine Nov. 28 through damage of the winding of the transformer measuring voltage in the unit's auxiliary power section.

Zaporizhia disconnected the power unit #1 from the integrated power system of Ukraine for scheduled repair Sept. 8.

There are 6 WWER-1000 (Water-Water Energetic Reactor) units at Zaporizhia nuclear power plant with a total installed electric power of about 6 GW.
