Military and Civilian Officials Travel to ATO Area to Receive Status of Participant in Military Operations - Journalist

мариуполь оборона блокпост

'ATO tourism' is becoming more and more popular with Ukrainian officials.

This was announced by Yurii Butusov, Chief Editor of Censor.NET, on his Facebook page.

"Volunteer project which I currently coordinate in the Defense Ministry of Ukraine has been studying some materials, including those on receiving status of participant in military operations. Sad facts are coming up: 'ATO tourism' is becoming more widespread. Military and civilian officials travel to and back from ATO area in order to receive the status. I personally saw two people from one of the departments going to the ATO headquarters for one night and now trying to apply for the ATO participant status. There are rumors that Kyiv's prosecutor Yuldashev decided to become the ATO participant as well.

"Of course, we will think how to break the fraudulent scheme. I will inform the Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak about all cases of 'one-day tourists' applying for the documents. I hope the new Rada will amend the legislation respectively," Butusov wrote.
