Ukrainian and Russian Generals Did Not Agree on Cease-fire in Donetsk Airport

At the same time representatives of the joint Ukrainian-Russian Center for the Control and Coordination of Cease-fire consider the meeting "fruitful."

This was stated at a briefing by representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Volodymyr Askarov, Censor.NET reports citing the Facebook page of the Center.

He stated that "during the day we tried to monitor the situation in the Donetsk airport, preventing outbreaks of violence. Unfortunately, we could not resolve this problem 100%, but at the moment there is a mode of "silence". We will continue to work on cease-fire."

In turn, the representative of the Russian Federation Lieutenant-General Alexander Lentsov said that in the near future we can expect a cease-fire in the Donbas.

"The work conducted in Luhansk today, I think, was constructive. First of all, there is a desire and aspiration of the Luhansk authorities to meet the requirements of the memorandum (Minsk agreements - ed.)... There is confidence that the desire of the administration of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions will lead to the fact that in the near future we will approach the implementation of the first paragraph of the memorandum - a cease-fire," he said.
