The Ukrenergo National Power Company names imbalance between production and consumption of electricity (power) the reason for such action. The cuts can prevent violations of the maximum permissible work modes of hydro power plants and reservoirs of the country and help respect the agreed schedule of power exchange with the power systems of the CIS and the Baltic States.

Ukrenergo reminds that the imbalance was caused by emergency repairs of electrical power unit #3 of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with 1,000 MW capacity, 23 power generating units at TPPs and CHPPs, as well as due to low coal stocks in warehouses of TPPs and lack of hydro resources.
